At the 2022 State of the Economy Luncheon, the Amarillo Economic Development Corporation announced a new platform integration to the Take Root In Amarillo website, Job Up.
The Job Up platform on TakeRootInAmarillo.com will utilize GoGig software. GoGig develops career advancement opportunities that allows job seekers and employers to be matched anonymously. Remaining anonymous allows unemployed, underemployed, overqualified, and passive job seekers all to benefit from the platform for career advancement without unconscious bias or jeopardizing their current job.
“We’ve heard from employers that they’d rather have a few qualified applicants than several unqualified ones, this platform will help employers reach more qualified applicants,” said Kevin Carter, President & CEO of the Amarillo EDC. “We hope that this upgrade makes filling job positions more efficient for both the job seeker and the company.”
To help train human resource managers and business owners the Amarillo EDC, in partnership with Workforce Solutions Panhandle, is holding a free training event on Wednesday, April 6, 2022. The event will take place in the Amarillo National Bank Skyline Room, 16th floor, 410 S. Taylor St., from 11:30 A.M. to 1:00 P.M., lunch will be provided. The speaker for the training will be Chris Hodges, Founder & CEO of GoGig.
“I believe that Job Up and the Take Root website as a whole will help us attract new workforce to Amarillo,” said Sabrina Meck Perez, Director of Workforce Attraction & Retention at the Amarillo EDC. “This website will be a one-stop-shop for all things Amarillo. We heard from our local employers and listened, this platform can be integrated into any company’s hiring process, easily. This is a great partnership with Workforce Solutions Panhandle to assist area employers to invite talent to take root and job up in Amarillo.”
