The Amarillo Economic Development Corporation (Amarillo EDC) Board of Directors is pleased to announce Kevin Carter as President and CEO, effective April 1. Mr. Carter’s selection was confirmed today during a meeting of the Board of Directors. His appointment follows an extensive search for the city’s new economic development leader.

Scott Bentley, the Amarillo market President and current Board of Directors members of First United Bank, is the newest member of the Amarillo EDC's Board of Directors. Scott is very active in the community having served on numerous civic boards including Golden Spread Council of Boy Scouts, Amarillo/Canyon United Way, Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center Community Advisory Board, and the Amarillo Tax Increment Reinvestment Zone.

The Amarillo Economic Development Corporation (AEDC) Board of Directors today formally appointed Doug Nelson as the company’s Interim President and Chief Executive Officer, effective immediately. Nelson succeeds Barry Albrecht, the company’s prior President and CEO, who announced his resignation on November 6, 2018.

Millennial Jesse Patton is the Communications Coordinator for the City of Amarillo. He was born in Corpus Christi, but his family moved to Amarillo when he was six months old. Since then, he has become a part of the community and now considers Amarillo his true home.

Millennial Zivorad Filipovic works as the marketing manager at the Amarillo Symphony. He received the "Top 20 Under 40" award from the Amarillo Chamber of Commerce in 2017. He has a passion for Amarillo’s local art events, the Amarillo Community Market and the theater productions.

Mindi McLain is a 35-year-old partner and lawyer at Burdett, Morgan, Williamson & Boykin (BMWB). She attended Texas A&M University for her undergraduate degree and earned a law degree from Texas Tech University. She is a problem-solver, helping local entrepreneurs and business owners grow and execute plans for success.

Joseph B. Peterson Jr. currently works as a financial advisor at Edward Jones and Associates. Originally from Birmingham, Alabama, Peterson grew up in Amarillo and received his bachelor’s degree from West Texas A&M University and master’s from Texas Tech University.
